The Office as a Project / THINGS WE LIKE LIMITED are seeking a creative and self-motivated Part-Time Designer & Researcher, with a transition to a Full-Time position possible in the coming months.

We are looking for someone able to help with Design Projects, Writing, Instigating our own Projects and Pro Bono work—someone interested in workspace design & the future of work, as well as in social impact & alternate modes of architectural practice.

We have projects and initiatives in Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Los Angeles, with more to come. We work with collaborators on every project and you will be exposed to stakeholders and processes both inside, as well as outside, the traditional scope of architectural practice.


  • Working towards or a recent graduate of a Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree preferred; other relevant degrees will be considered.

  • Strong conceptual and design skills.

  • Excellent Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino/AutoCAD, physical model-making and rendering skills are required. ArchiCAD a plus.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and collaborators. Fluency in English necessary, Cantonese and/or Mandarin a plus.

  • Some familiarity with drawing sets at various stages of design preferred.

  • Have an interest in working on international projects; discovering how to operate under different systems and in different countries.

  • Strong self-management skills, ability meet deadlines and budget, and ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong level of work/professional/personal ethics, empathy and curiosity are very important to us.

  • Currently residing in the HK region / able to commute to the HK Island. Unfortunately, at this time we are not able to provide sponsorship for international applicants.

  • 20 hours to be distributed according to agreed schedule—flexible/remote work possible.
